Thanks to Product Gym, I was able to land two product manager job offers!
I was actually surprised by the number of interviews that I was able to get in New York. I attribute that to following the Product Gym process and advice, in terms of how you position yourself. With that being said, eve with COVID-19 going on, I was really surprised at the number of interviews that actually came through. I was averaging six to eight product manager interviews a week.
It was just a matter of being extremely diligent and making sure that I had a system when I was prepping for each interview. I had a system on my calendar and created a checklist for myself for the things that I needed to do to prepare for each round of the interviews. For availability for instance, if I have three or four different recruiters asking me for availability, then I'm even putting on my calendar the time that I suggested that I had the availability, so that when they come back and want to secure a time, there will be no overlap between the different interview requests.
I started with Product Gym in February 2020 and landed my job offer at the end of September. I was juggling two offers at that time, and was able to get about a 20% pay bump compared to what I used to be making.
You get out of this what you put into it. There are times when you're going to feel like you can't do it anymore and you have to power through it. You have to embrace the grind and respect the process. It works and you have to stay diligent and focused. It really is about what you put into it. That is what you're going to get out of it and it will come true.
